3 Keys to Improved SEO
{by Andy} - February 16, 2012
Kudos to our partners over at ALG Agency who recently published this article on three key ways to improve your SEO when writing online articles.
Simply put, it’s about relevant and concise content. And writing in the most SEO friendly way, which is unfortunately a skill everyone does not possess. Google no longer just reads key words, they evaluate how people interact with your site and how long they hang out. I’d highly recommend you read their article and possibly consider enlisting a professional (such as ALG) to help you with this effort.
Here is their article:
With Atlanta search engine optimization, content is king. That is because Google wants relevant content to show up when people search for a particular keyword or key phrase. On the web, content is what people are searching for. In the last decade, SEO has seen a dramatic increase in competition and, consequently, the industry has had to adapt. As the numbers of websites have drastically increased, search engine are stuck with the burden to determine which websites rank best for relevancy to a keyword. Google, for example, achieves this by evaluating the content of a page and determining which content is most important to a particular search. Therefore, article writing has become a key factor for SEO professionals who are trying to optimize a website page for one specific keyword.
There are three ways in which article writing has changed.
1. It is a different audience.
In the past, articles were written so that users could learn a new topic. In most cases, they were formal, very informative, and covered topics that would interest the general reader. They were created to be similar to articles written for a newspaper or magazine. However, as the needs of consumers changed, so did article writing. No longer are articles long, boring and filled with broad subject material. In fact, Google is less interested in those types of articles because they offer less relevancy for a specific keyword string. Google is more interested in articles that are focused on a single topic, offers useful information, and is fairly casual in tone.
2. The Demands are not the same as they used to be.
Demands have changed the way articles need to be written for SEO purposes. Now, you cannot simply write whatever they want to write, and post it up in multiple locations and claim to have lots of unique and valuable content on the web. Google is smart enough to catch you when you try to duplicate content. Thus, the 100 posts of the same article will only be considered 1 original content article in Google’s calculations and the 99 others will be considered syndicated or groups of content that add value to the original article. Therefore, you will have to write more than one article to be an effective writer. Google is looking for the most recent, unique, innovative articles. Article writing has really become something of an art. You have to develop a subtle strategy to be effective. Once you have become proficient at article writing, you are halfway there to becoming a professional search engine optimizer.
3. The technology has developed.
The advent of new algorithms in search engines, particularly Google, has changed the way articles are written. With countless improvements over the years, Google seems to have developed the ability to read the content on a website. It does not just count the number of words or pick out certain keywords. It looks at the article as a whole. Google is looking for casual content and websites that hold visitors for longer periods of time. The principle is that visitors will stay on a website to read articles. The longer they stay, the more interesting and valuable the content must be.
If you bothered to read this article from start to finish, Google knows, based on how long you stayed, that you found it interesting and helpful. I set out to write this article with the intention of adding some value to the web. I wrote this article to educate and inform you about how article writing has changed over time and to educate you on how to write better content for better Atlanta search engine optimization results.
When all is said and done, you have to write your articles differently in order to get better Atlanta search engine optimization results. Since Google invests so much time getting the most relevant results to searchers, you need to invest the time to learn how Google is interpreting your content writing. It needs to be interesting, casual, and unique.
